The Chainsmokers are a DJ duo made up of Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart. Alex Pall was born on May 16, 1985 and is the DJ of the two artists. Andrew Taggart was born on December 31, 1989 and is the producer, vocalist and writer. The two kick started their career in 2014 when they released their first song “#Selfie”. The song got over 60 million views on YouTube when it was released and took number one on the Dance Chart. Four years later and they are a very successful pair. From 2014 to 2018 they have released 21 songs all having over 2 billion views on YouTube.
Recently posted to FaceBook and shared among many sites, The Chainsmokers released a video giving viewers an inside look on how the two put together their hit song “Somebody”. Billboard gives a brief description of what the video entails and a little secret hidden in the recording. The minute long video starts off with Alex and Andrew working on the piano, then moves on to show them listening to the vocals. As it goes on you’re given a short look at the editing process and the fun they are having working on the new song. Billboard describes this video as a “fun clip” that Alex and Andrew posted to Facebook. Their video received 16,000 likes, 418 comments and 1,200 shares.
It doesn’t seem like much attention was brought to the video but there were certainly more views on YouTube. Although the video wasn’t a very long look into the editing process, the two promised to do a much more detailed tutorial on their editing work later on. The little hint Billboard got from viewing the video was the vocal change in the video. They discovered that it was another recording from a different song.
